My doorstep, My Dog And Little Me

My Dog And Little Me
My daughter and I were looking through old photo albums the other night - OK - sifting through a box of loose pictures, and we found the photo of a 2 year-old me with the family dog. I was obviously practising for this day...

My Little Dog And Me

The front of my old family home was a great stage. I would often stand on the top step shaking a washing-up liquid bottle full of dried peas or something and singing Carpenters' songs with the neighbourhood kids. Anyone else remember singing 'Top Of The World'? Karaoke anyone?

awww. your two year old photo made my day. why did we all wear those tiny skirts that showed the bottoms of our nappies? my mum liked putting frilly can-can plastic knickers over my nappy.

Oh, I forgot about the pretty, waterproof layer - you were pampered! Didn't we have to wear our clothes until we could pass them down to our siblings or the head got too big for the neck hole.

Our dog used to carry my baby sister around by her cloth nappy, like one of her puppies, - she couldn't have done that with disposables.

Oh, I LOVE the Carpenters. She has such a depressing voice though. I'm generally in tears after about 2 bars of any Carpenters song, even 'happy' ones like Top of the World.

What a great picture Sue - I can't say I remember ever singing Carpenters song when I was little though I'm not going to be able to get the song out of my head today.
